This front entrance needed a bridge to the front door ...
The zig-zag bridge leads to a front yard deck -- a nice place to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the water. A low rail on the bridge provides some safety and is illuminated at night with lighting from below. Some trellis work with stainless cables will provide a place for the clematis to grow.
This highly clever and attractive deck design garnered an award at the 2015 NADRA (North American Deck and Railing Association) Deck Competition.
All surfaces are ipe, screwed and plugged. The framing is treated southern yellow pine.
